With the Olympic Games only days away, McDonald’s Malaysia has rolled out a festive new creation called the Rio Burger. Designed to give McDonald's customers a taste of Brazilian cuisine, the new burger comes with festive toppings that are described by the chain as a "carnival in every bite."
The Rio Burger is a limited-edition menu item available at participating McDonald’s Malaysia locations. The new burger consists of an all-beef patty topped with a slice of cheddar cheese, shredded vegetables and a spicy Rio sauce. To satisfy the needs of the Malaysian market, the burger is also halal.
To promote the new dish among its younger customers, McDonald’s Malaysia also created a vlog series that enlists popular YouTubers such as The Ming Thing lads to sample the new burger creation and document their review.
