Richard MacDonald is celebrating his eightieth birthday with a landmark two-day event on June 5 and 6, 2026, in Monterey, California. The internationally acclaimed figurative sculptor is known for his bronze works capturing dancers, athletes, and performers in motion.
Held in Richard MacDonald's studio and foundry, the celebration features two distinct gatherings — a private invitation-only evening on June 5 for close friends, family, and leading collectors, followed by a public-facing cocktail event on June 6. Both evenings include live performances from internationally acclaimed artists, live music, guided studio and foundry tours, a live bronze pour demonstration, and the unveiling of new sculptures, including a commissioned piece for the Weaver of Change Foundation in Singapore.
Reflecting on this milestone, MacDonald shares: “Earlier in life I never imagined I would live this long. I used to joke that my motto was, Live fast, die young, and have a good-looking corpse."
