ADD Architectural Studio is a design label based in Athens and its recent piece is the Reverse Pickup Table Lamp -- it is inspired by vinyl discs and its interaction with the pickup needle. The concept dials in on the transmission of music and sound as the vinyl spin around the needle. The vinyl, in this case, is replaced by a clear marble disc in a standing structure. Its clear sensibilities also allow for light to come through -- it all rests on top of arcs finished in bronze.
As the marble disc rolls along the bronze foundation, it gradually becomes more illuminated as the arcs accentuate the concept of light and shadow movements. There are three different Reverse Pickup Table Lamps in total, all of which are made from different marble colors to match aesthetics and emotions accordingly.
