A Target currently being built in Chicago is set to be the first retail store of the chain to offer a fully stocked bar to consumers while they shop. The store has allegedly applied for two city licenses to be able to serve alcohol and sell packaged liquor.

Shoppers running errands picking up anything from toiletries to clothes and groceries can now enjoy a cocktail while they shop as well as be able to purchase liquor in-stores. This will most likely entice shoppers to stick around longer while they spend, and even find the experience more enjoyable with a beverage in hand. This is a great example of retailers finding a way to make consumers feel more at ease while they shop.
