Nismo Nick Reworks Two Pathfinders for the SUV's 40th Anniversary

Builder Nicholas Scherr, known as Nismo Nick, reworked two Pathfinders into track and trail concepts to mark the Pathfinder's 40th anniversary, and both will appear at SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas. He based them on the R51, the last body-on-frame Pathfinder, and used current Frontier body and cabin pieces. 'Trackfinder' carries the headline spec, a supercharged V6 producing 501 hp.

An Xterra six-speed manual keeps the road-focused build engaging on pavement, while 'Trailfinder' features a lift and 35-inch tires adding clearance for rougher routes and camping gear. Frontier parts keep both customs aligned with Nissan's current truck design rather than reading as one-offs.

Nismo Nick shows how the R51 platform can turn an overlooked Pathfinder generation into anniversary material for both performance and trail fans without altering Nissan's model, while Frontier-based updates sketch a restomod formula other truck SUVs could reuse with newer brand cues
