As well as serving as a platform for discovering new places to eat, Zomato will soon be launching 'Book,' a restaurant table reservation to coordinate table management. From the perspective of restaurants and hungry diners, this online tool will make it much more streamlined to make a booking.
The service for making restaurant reservations will be rolled out first in India, Australia and the UAE, powered by technology from NexTable. Early images of Book that have been teased feature restaurant layouts that can be highlighted and numbered with notes, emphasizing a visual system to help with organization.
In the future, Zomato is also looking to expand its business in other areas like online ordering and cashless payments, providing competition to some of its biggest rivals on the web like Yelp and OpenTable.
