Double Extension Homes

This Renovated Ranch House Boasts Two Floating Sections Connected by Glass

Terry & Terry Architecture designed this renovated ranch home that features an open interior and a curved glass extension separating two split volume extensions.

The Bal House is located in Menlo Park, California and began as a mid-century ranch house. This new renovation included several updates like the addition of a new single storey and several extra decorative touches. The renovated ranch was transformed into two separate volumes, extending from the original structure. A curved glass wall was built where the two volumes connect to create an outdoor void that brings the natural world inside.

A steel bay window looking outward from the original building provides a splendid view of the street, and a new deck space was given a concrete bench that mirrors the look of the building's facade.
