ReLoopBox is a packaging concept by Austrian designer Lars Biedermann that replaces disposable food packaging with reusable containers. Developed for grocery products such as meat, dairy, and prepared foods, the system uses standardized containers made from copolyester, silicone, and stainless steel. Each unit is designed for repeated circulation between manufacturers, retailers, and consumers instead of single-use disposal. Digital tracking chips are integrated into every container to support inventory management, returns, and supply chain monitoring throughout the product lifecycle.
The containers use vacuum-sealed storage to help extend food freshness and reduce spoilage during transport and storage. ReLoopBox is structured around a closed-loop return model in which packaging is collected, cleaned, and returned to circulation after use. The standardized format allows different food categories to use the same packaging platform while maintaining consistent handling and logistics.
