Mirrors are too often treated as objects that rely on their surroundings to give them meaning, but the Reflect Me series has not been. Elaborate frames have not even been used to accentuate their presence; instead, each piece has been sculpted to visually transform it into something unexpectedly different.

Particularly unique is the pair of his and hers mirrors that have been cut into perfect circles and mounted within a magnified spectacle-like frame. About ten times wider than Woody Allen’s iconic eyeglasses, these seem to peer right back at the user.

Smaller looking glasses have been cut and treated to form heads with black cartoony hairstyles. Maria Yasko has made the blank Reflect Me faces roughly the same dimensions as the average human visage, allowing the looker to see himself with a quirky new coiffure.
