The RefAid refugee aid app and database connects refugees and the organizations that help them to find essential resources.
This free mobile app uses geolocation to show users where the closest free services for refugees are located. From food to legal services and housing, organizations like the Red Cross and Save the Children use the app for clients and make their information available on the app.
Developed by Silicon Valley veteran Shelley Taylor, this app was created with a focus on user interface so it is easy to use and causes no barriers in accessibility. Knowing many refugees from the Syrian refugee crisis were armed with smartphones, Taylor adapted technology already developed by her company 'Trelyz' to build the RefAid refugee aid app.
