'Red Hat' CPO Announced that Its Employees will Not Return to Office

'Red Hat Software,' the Raleigh, North Carolina-based software company that primarily works with open-source, Linux-based platforms, announced that it will not be pressuring employees to return to in-office work conditions. Red Hat Software employs more than 19,000 workers, many of which live with or closely interact with immunocompromised individuals.
As a result of this, the Red Hat Chief People Officer, Jennifer Dudeck, stated that the company is adopting an "office-flex" model, meaning staff can "come to the office as much as they need to, or not at all if they choose." Dudeck believes this is the best option because ""With COVID-19 still a concern for associates caring for immunocompromised loved ones, no Red Hatter is required to be in an office if they do not wish to return." Additionally, Dudeck noted that many other software companies are forcing employees to return to the office, which will reflect positively on Red Hat.
