A group called the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association has decided to take a modern and technologically involved approach towards encouraging people to adopt a more eco-friendly and sensitive lifestyle, by going ahead and launching an innovative new recycling app that makes use of augmented reality technology.
The 'Recycling Starts Here' app is designed to interact with four specially marked 'Recycle Everywhere' bins located in the the province of Manitoba. Users who load up their app while at those recycling bins will get the opportunity to be entered to a draw to win great prizes.
This recycling app shows that augmented reality has applications that go well beyond Pokemon Go, and can be used to encourage people to do good for the environment.
