Made to look like extremely brightly colored balloons, the Radim Pekarek Symbiont installation piece fills a gloomy corridor with light and cheer.
Balloons are synonymous with parties and fun, which is why this artwork is so exciting to view. The piece hangs from the ceiling in a long bulbous column, looking very much like a sculpture made entirely out of balloons. However, Symbiont is actually made out of plastic spheres in different sizes and colors that all have a light within them. They are essentially giant light bulbs all connected together just like a string of oversized Christmas lights. The light shining through the Radim Pekarek Symbiont installation sends a multicolored glow around the room.
