Adidas' Smart Suits Use NFC Technology to Authenticated Regulated Products

In order to speed up the process of authenticating products in compliance with current Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) regulations, Adidas created a smart racing suit for motorsport drivers.

The Climacool Smart Suit uses NFC technology so that it can be scanned with a free app in order to easily call up a product's details, as well as information on the manufacturer and manufacturing date. The suit was first tested at this year's FIA World Endurance Championships at Silverstone.

In the future, Adidas has plans to enhance the capabilities of its Climacool Smart Suit by making it possible for a driver's details to be recalled in the same way, which will make it extremely easy to acquire medical data in an emergency situation.
