Extra-Spicy Purple Sauces

Taco Bell's Purple Chile Sauce is So Spicy It Requires a Waiver

At its second annual Live Más LIVE event, Taco Bell unveiled 30 new menu items in development, limited-edition merch collaborations, and presented the Bell Awards.

While fans of Baja Blast can't stop talking about the Mountain Dew Baja Midnight with a passionfruit flavor, there's another purple menu item that's making headlines for a different reason. The rich Purple Chile Sauce is so spicy, it required a waiver for attendees to try its blend of three unique chiles: Ají Panca, Habanero, and Ghost Pepper.

Another spicy sauce in development is Weak Knees Fire, which Taco Bell is perfecting with condiment brand Bushwick Kitchen. This smoky sauce with a hint of citrus combines Fire sauce with Bushwick Kitchen's Weak Knees Gochujang Sriracha for a fresh, spicy new flavor experience with a globally inspired edge.
