BMW is releasing an exclusive limited-edition new 5 series known as the 'Pure Metal Silver.' Only 50 models will be released for sale and only in the United States. The Pure Metal Silver is an advanced version of the current 5 series with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine. The car can reach 600 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 516 pound-feet of torque from 1,500 to 6,000 rpm. The Pure Metal Silver has a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission controlled by shift paddles.
The limited-edition car can go 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, which is half a second faster than the current 5 series. The Pure Metal Silver has a top speed of 190 mph. The model derives its name from the custom color that BMW crafted exclusively for this model.
