Pungas' 3D-Printed Accessories Make a Pair of Kicks Your Own

'Pungas' are fun 3D-printed sneaker accessories that help to add a touch of personalization to your shoes.

Back in 2011, the creative team behind Pungas founded HICKIES, a unique elastic lacing system. But now, inspired by 3D-printing technology Gaston Frydlewski and Mariquel Waingarten thought up a new way to make your kicks even more your own.

The duo collaborated with 3D-printer Shapeways and invited five international artists and designers to create unique accessories, some of which include little devil horns, monogram cufflinks (for your shoes), bowties and other fun shapes. Pungas are traditionally produced, but with the help of its recent, successful Kickstarter campaign, Pungas will be able to be manufactured through Shapeways much more rapidly. With endless possibilities, these sneaker accessories are most likely just the beginning of what's to come from HICKIES.
