Hot cocoa is a popular drink this time of year, perfect for warming up during cold weather, but this homemade pumpkin hot chocolate takes the hot beverage up a notch. Created by Jessica Merchant at the food blog How Sweet It Is, the Nutella-infused drink also features an extra shot of chocolatey goodness by including the beloved chocolate-hazelnut spread.
The pumpkin Nutella hot chocolate recipe calls for autumnal and wintery ingredients including pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, high quality chopped dark chocolate and three tablespoons of Nutella. The sweet treat is also topped with a Nutella whipped cream that is described as "rich and thick enough to cut the sweetness of the Nutella." The indulgent and decadent pumpkin hot chocolate would also be good with bourbon, chocolate liqueur or vanilla vodka for a more grown-up version.
