Regency Engagement Photos

These Pride and Prejudice Engagement Photos are Endearing

Redditer ByTingo was the recipient of a surprise Pride and Prejudice engagement. She posted the photos on Imgur of her and her family reenacting the iconic scene at the end of the famous classic novel where Mr. Darcy proposes to Elizabeth Bennett.

ByTingo was shocked to find her whole family dressed up in Regency period costumes and exclaiming "Mr. Bingly has returned to Netherfield!" as they played different characters from the novel. She was than dressed up in a Regency dress herself and given a script to read as the entire family and her boyfriend-now-fiance re-enacted the book.

These Pride and Prejudice engagement photos are undeniably romantic and very sweet and funny. Pride and Prejudice has been a favorite among young girls and women for generations, and has spawned spinoffs including the Brigitte Jones series of films and books, the recent film Austenland and the UK miniseries Lost in Austen.
