EssilorLuxottica and Meta expanded their range of AI smart glasses with new prescription-compatible Ray-Ban Meta optical styles: the Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and the Scriber Optics (Gen 2).
The new models feature a slimmer, customizable frame with adjustable components and support for multiple lens types, including single-vision, progressive, and transition lenses. The latter option allows the glasses to be worn throughout the day without switching frames between indoor and outdoor environments.
Meta AI capabilities have been integrated into the products, enabling hands-free features like real-time translation, messaging, content capture and audio playback. Hardware upgrades include a built-in camera, video recording and enhanced audio systems designed for clear voice interactions.
"Starting at $499, Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics (Gen 2) are available for pre-order in the U.S. starting March 31st, with broader launch on April 14th"
