Cookie Portfolio Growth Lines

Mondelēz Expands Its Premium Snacking Reach with Tate’s Cookie Line

Mondelēz International has broadened its premium snacking reach by positioning Tate’s Bake Shop as a growth-focused cookie brand, featuring limited-edition flavors and a new soft-baked format designed to attract younger shoppers. The company, which acquired Tate’s in 2018, is leveraging the brand’s Southampton heritage and simple-ingredient positioning to emphasize quality within its larger portfolio.

Tate’s recent rollouts have included gluten-free options, seasonal flavors such as pumpkin spice and key lime pie, and its first soft-baked cookie, reflecting ongoing product diversification. Mondelēz said Tate’s sales grew 2.5 times faster than the overall cookie category in 2025, while executives have also discussed extending the brand into other bake shop-style products such as brownies, cakes and muffins.

These moves aim to meet consumer demand for premium indulgence while creating new occasions, regional growth opportunities and potential extensions beyond the core cookie category.
