Portable Outdoor Emergency Charger stores solar power inside its handle
References: yankodesign
Portable Outdoor Emergency Charger is a concept umbrella by Mexican designer Victoria García Moreno that incorporates flexible solar panels directly into the canopy. Developed as a James Dyson Award entry, the design captures solar energy across the umbrella's surface and routes it through the shaft to an integrated power bank housed inside the handle. The charging system is concealed within the structure, allowing the umbrella to retain the appearance and functionality of a conventional weatherproof canopy.
The handle contains the battery pack, activation controls, and charging ports. USB and USB-C outputs provide power for phones and other portable devices, turning the umbrella into a mobile energy source for outdoor use. Waterproof solar panels line the canopy, maximizing the available collection area without introducing external accessories or attachments.
