The Point.One S is a solar-powered charging station that was done as a project between BMW and the company EIGHT. The design allows users to stop and charge their cars (for those running on electricity), and it is all powered through solar energy, ensuring that the entire design is sustainable.
Moreover, the design is located near the BMW group offices, so the design matches that of the adjacent building. It takes on a sleek, sloping angle, and looks quite futuristic. Cars simply need to drive underneath the sloped roof, plug their devices in and wait to gain that extra bit of energy.
While electric run cars are still not common, it's innovations such as this that will hopefully propel their use into a more mainstream market.
