Podcast Host Competitions

Radiotopia's 'Podquest' Brings Entertaining Competition to Podcasting

Described as the American Idol of podcasts, podcast network Radiotopia is hosting a competition to find the next great podcast host. Podquest is alternatively being referred to as an "open call for new show ideas."

Radiotopia is looking for other podcasts to join the network that share the same vision: "to support motivated, independent producers and original shows that champion creativity, rich narratives and high production value." Pitches are being accepted until April 17. The winner will become a new show on the network. The top three finalists will receive $10,000 as well as tech and marketing help. There are also prizes for the 10 semi-finalists.

Both the popularity of podcasts as a medium and the entertainment aspect of competition can be seen in this podcast host competition.
