IMG Models just made headlines for opening its first plus-size male modeling division. While the past few years has seen more plus-size female models hitting the runway, the same cannot be said about their male counterparts. Now there is an entire department devoted to bringing more diversity to male modeling.
The new plus-size male modeling division at IMG Models is called 'Brawn' and it specifically aims to represent men who fall under the 'big and tall' category of fashion. One of the division's most famous faces is Zach Miko, who made headlines last year for staring in a Target ad.
In addition to bringing more diversity to men's fashion advertisements, the new division can also help to promote body positivity among men of all ages. As IMG president Ivan Bart explains, "The body positive messaging and size diversity is something that’s relevant and something that continues to be on everybody’s mind. We have to extend the conversation for men."
