Plant Snacks recently introduced a new line of plant-based snacks made with the root vegetable cassava, also known as yuca or manioc. Nutritionally, yuca is high in Vitamin C, fiber, folate and magnesium.
The chips are made with cassava flour, which makes them gluten-free and non-GMO. The all-new snack products are available in a range of interesting flavors such as Beet with Goat Cheese, Cheddar, Kale, Sea Salt and Seeds, which gets its crunch from the addition of black sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and pumpkin seeds.
As many consumers are now looking for healthier alternatives to potato chips, they are filling their snack cupboards at home instead with alternative plant-based chips made with everything from beets and spinach to pea protein.
