Plant Pulses installation presents a multisensory interpretation of plant signals through sound and visuals created by designer Marcin Rusak in collaboration with Maison Perrier-Jouët during Miami Art Week 2025. The installation uses recorded data from plants collected in vineyard environments and translates ultrasonic emissions into audible sound and visual animations. The work incorporates sculptural elements that contain botanical specimens encased in transparent materials, with visual content projected on surrounding screens that evolves in tandem with the sound components. The installation was exhibited on Faena Beach during the December art fair period.
Measurements from scientific research were used to inform the work’s soundscape, with signals derived from ultrasonic activity under specific conditions. Sculptural elements include herbarium-like blocks that house specimens of selected plant species relevant to the Champagne region’s ecology. The exhibit runs within a defined timeframe during the event, and surrounding programming includes discussions and presentations related to plant communication and design.
