The Planika NEX Media Wall Combines a TV and a Fireplace

The Planika NEX Media Wall was presented by the brand at the Madrid Design Festival (MDF) 2026 as a solution for the modern living space that solves the design issue of having to place the TV over the fireplace. The system utilizes an automated sliding mechanism that will allow for the adjustment of the screen height to maximize viewing angles to the right level. The unit also boasts the signature fireplace in the bottom that's rated for configuration with Burning Ethanol Vapors (BEV) or a flame-free CoolFlame Water Vapor technology, depending on preferences.

The Planika NEX Media Wall is available now in more than 66 stone-like finishes to choose from, which will maximize its ability to be seamlessly integrated into existing living spaces.

Motorized Media Integration
Automated screen-height adjustment systems enable seamless blending of large displays with traditional focal points, creating opportunities for integrated AV-furniture where motion mechanics and displays co-design new living-room experiences.
Hybrid Flame Display
Fireplace modules combining real ethanol flames and flame-free water-vapor effects suggest hybrid ambiance solutions that merge sensory authenticity with safety and regulatory flexibility.
Customizable Stone-finish Interiors
Extensive finish libraries for media walls indicate a move toward configurable architectural-grade enclosures that position electronics as permanent design elements rather than removable appliances.

Who This Affects Most

Consumer Electronics
Height-adjustable TV mechanisms point to a new device category where display manufacturers integrate electromechanical assemblies and content ergonomics into product roadmaps.
Interior Design and Architecture
Design firms and specifiers are seeing media-presenting hearths as built-in features, prompting reconsideration of spatial planning, material workflows, and client expectations for integrated tech and finish.
Smart Home Appliances
Smart-home ecosystems could incorporate fireplace-display hybrids as sceneable nodes, combining environmental controls, safety monitoring, and entertainment orchestration within home automation platforms.
