Midleton is extending Green Spot with Green Spot Quails' Gate, a single pot still Irish whiskey finished in Pinot Noir casks from British Columbia's Quails' Gate winery. It is the third Wine Geese release to arrive across the Atlantic in 2023, starting with Green Spot aged in bourbon and sherry casks before a wine-led layer of red fruit and spice.
Quails' Gate sits in the Okanagan Valley and is known for Pinot Noir, giving the whiskey a clear link to one producer and region. At 92 proof, it keeps enough weight for the finish to show without covering the pot still base.
British Columbia casks widen the Wine Geese idea beyond the line's earlier wine regions and give Midleton a more distinct regional story within finished Irish whiskey. Keeping classic Green Spot underneath also helps the bottle speak to existing fans while offering a limited-edition twist.
