Blue is my favorite color, so, I’ve never really understood why pink has always represented females and blue males. In her current Pink and Blue Project photographer JeongMee Yoon explores this colorful division. The Pink and Blue project is surely an offshoot of Yoon’s earlier Color Project in which she captured children in their rooms with their mono-colored things.

Through her research for the Pink and Blue project Yoon discovered that this particular color association has existed only since the period after WWII and that prior to that time the pink/blue divide was actually reversed.
