The 'Pikachu Outbreak' Campaign Saw 50 Pikachus Take Over a Japanese Park

'Pikachu Outbreak' is an adorable and quirky promotional campaign launched to celebrate the roaring success of the 17th Pokemon movie, 'Pokemon Movie: Cocoon of Diancie and Annihilation'. The campaign consisted of a group of 50 Pikachus thronging the city of Yokohama in Japan, randomly moving around and skipping about without a care in the world.

The Pikachu Outbreak took off in Yokohama's Akarenga Park. The cute little yellow pikachus were seen 'mingling' amongst themselves and walking around with little sense of direction but lots of cuteness.

The Pikachus were electrically powered and roughly the size of a small person. They previously appeared in a Pokemon Company ad in which they were seen riding elevators and escalators.
