In today's age of all things digital, some might say cassette tapes are out. Sami Havia, a Finnish artist, might make you think twice about that. Havia puts visually stunning pictures onto cassette tapes, turning them into works of art, He takes what would ordinarily be considered trash or items doomed for the recycled bin, and makes them desirable again. Really an unusual, yet interesting medium.
Implications - As contemporary society rapidly progresses toward a completely digital one, there is a growing segment of consumers that seek to preserve aspects of the technology of a bygone era. Companies that seek to attract consumers who are into vinyl and older technologies would be wise to find a way to create specialty 'vintage' products for this demographic.
