French auto manufacturer Peugeot is clearly taking the Dakar Rally seriously, given its recruitment of driving legends Cyril Despres, Carlos Sainz and Sebastien Loeb to its team, and the trio and teammate Stephane Peterhansel will be given a formidable weapon in the form of the 3008DKR Maxi.
The Peugeot 3008DKR Maxi is a truly spectacular rally car that is designed to be a .full 20 centimeters wider than its predecessor, allowing for a suspension expansion range of 10 centimetres on other side. This is a revolutionary engineering change that could be seen as a gamble, but is a really a statement of intent that Peugeot is determined to dominate the 8,000-kilometre Dakar Rally.
This particular vehicle isn't necessarily designed to rip up smooth driving tracks, but is as good as any vehicle out there when it comes to traversing dunes and navigating tricky terrain without compromising on speed, making it the consummate rally car for the world's most demanding rally competition.
