Peter Pichler Architecture presents its latest design at Milan Design Week 2021. The project is entitled Vertical Six Senses and is comprised of a small-scale display of the firm's new hospitality project. The design was developed for an alpine ski region in Kitzbühel, Austria.
The design consists of five ski chalets, all inspired by the local vernacular in Austria. The architects took local design traditions and reinterpreted them through a contemporary lens. The chalets are made with regional materials and hope to amplify the human senses of favoring simplicity. The chalets were designed to create an immersive spatial experience that embraces nature with the surrounding landscape in mind. The chalets are designed with overlapping slabs of wood, creating a unique play of light inside the living spaces.
