At its flagship store in New York's Union Square, Petco is now introducing its first-ever in-store pet food kitchen, which will offer up freshly prepared, human-grade pet food on a daily basis. The kitchen features state-of-the-art stainless-steel appliances and has JustFoodForDogs trained chefs on-site to prepare signature recipes by hand.
Thanks to the design of the in-store pet food kitchen, people will be able to see pet meals made fresh before their eyes. Some of the fresh, nourishing food that will be cooked up include pet-pleasing combinations like beef and russet potato, chicken and white rice; turkey and whole wheat macaroni, plus other options to suit therapeutic vet-prescribed diets.
As of the first of May, Petco set itself apart as a pet food retailer that's taking a stand against artificial ingredients by removing food and treats for dogs and cats that are made with artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
