Premium pet food company Canidae is bringing environmentally friendly Kibble Refill Stations to participating Petco pet care centers across the country. Like familiar systems for dispensing nuts or coffee beans, the Kibble Refill Stations make the most of bulk gravity-feed mechanisms.
With this eco-friendly way to replenish pet food, owners can anticipate savings of up to 45% per pound on their purchases, since "four pounds of Canidae Pure kibble from a Kibble Refill Station would save a consumer more than $9 per bag as opposed to a regular, pre-packaged four-pound bag."
Canidae and Petco expect to expand the kibble refill technology to 100 Petco pet care centers in 2022. Within the first year, the partnering companies are aming to eliminate 50,000 dog food bags that would otherwise end up in landfills.
