A Los Angeles-based design studio is expanding its lighting collection with the introduction of a nautically inspired pendant light fixture.

'Float' by Brendan Ravenhill Studio is a gorgeous ceiling-hung lamp inspired by the "Japanese fishing floats and rip tides pulling lobster buoys under water." The fixture combines clear and sand-blasted glass, adding a frosted element that helps elicit a sense of serenity. Foat's pendant is suspended with rope and leather, paying a modern homage to its nautical influence. The lamps can be hung from a ceiling post in single, double or triple clusters, which join to fuse a unique and subtle source of light.

These delicate lights are adaptable enough to have the same appeal in a modern kitchen as they would in a domestic wooden cabin.
