The natural sprouting kit from Patella Crescenda aims to inspire us to grow more of our own food. This future-proof Dutch design allows you to grow healthy microgreens in your own home all through the year without using soil.
The designers behind House of Thol came up with this foolproof sprouting kit to be able to harvest fresh greens even in the middle of winter and motivate their kids (and themselves) to grow more of their own food, no matter the circumstances.
Microgreens come in a wide variety of types and flavors, are packed with vitamins, and grow from seeds that are easy to store for longer periods of time. They are ready to harvest in 5-7 days.
The Patella Crescenda consists of a terracotta dish and base, a glass reservoir, and stainless steel growth disks. Due to the set-up of the reservoir, the water naturally stays at an even level throughout the growth cycle. Seeds can be sown directly onto the stainless steel disks. Once the seedlings have grown, the microgreens can easily be picked from the disks by hand. Because there is no soil involved, the whole seedling can be eaten, roots included, so nothing goes to waste.
