Upcycled Ocean Plastic Sneakers

adidas Introduces the New Ultraboost Parley LTD Sneakers

adidas works alongside Parley for the Oceans in creating an environmentally friendly version of the Ultraboost silhouette -- the Ultraboost Parley LTD sneakers. With each pair of the sneaker created, approximately 11 plastic bottles are prevented from entering the ocean and that's a large step for the environment. This collaboration came into works in support of Earth Day coming up, highlighting the threat of marine plastic pollution.

The Ultraboost Parlet LTD sneakers' signature Primeknit uppers are constructed from 85% Parley Ocean Plastic. This is a progressive material crafted from upcycled waste. The shoes also have the label's classic BOOST tooling implemented, along with its continental rubber outsole. A notable element is the integrated NFC chip in the right shoe that gives the wearer exclusive information about plastic pollution through their phones activated by simply tapping. The shoes will be available for purchase online at adidas and in store beginning April 16.
