Female Body-Inspired Homeware

Paola Vilas' Modernist Style is Translated Into Cheeky Homeware

The modernist jeweller, Paola Vilas, translated her aesthetic and creative talent into a collection of homeware. The Brazilian designer uses the female form and body as inspiration for her mischievous collection. Sculptural breast trays and hanging brass items are included in the collection. A curving table and floor lamps are cut into sensual silhouettes while other pieces reinterpret the face into abstract line combinations.

The pieces in the collection distort the way we see our surroundings and blur the lines between the functional and the creative imagination. Keeping with her love for jewelry, the designer decided to follow "construction processes similar to those of jewelry." By adding this still into furniture making, the result is a collection of artistic yet functional pieces.
