Portugal and Real Madrid megastar Cristiano Ronaldo has raised many eyebrows by starring in the Pao Facial Fitness ad, hawking the strange-looking Japanese facial fitness product. While celebrity athletes have taken part in many awkward ads in the past, this one might just take the cake.

The product is essentially a flexible plastic gadget with a circular center that is wedged into your mouth. Once the product is secure in your mouth, you shake it up and down using your face muscle. The result is a workout that looks extremely bizarre, but is claimed to strengthen your facial muscles.

Curiously enough, Ronaldo doesn't actually use the product in the Pao Facial Fitness ad, leaving the awkwardness to a series of lesser-known actors.
