Safilo's OXYDO Collection Boasts Dynamic Fashion-Forward Styles

'OXYDO' is the name of the four-piece Spring/Summer 2017 sunglasses collection from eyewear brand Safilo, which worked with Belgian 3D printing company Materialise and artist Francis Bitonti for the creation of dynamic, forward-thinking styles.

The eyewear pieces in the collection were designed to "walk a line between minimalism and opulence," in such a way that the frames themselves are quite minimal with 3D-printed details added on as ornamentation. These additions to the eyewear pieces help to redefine classic silhouettes, including round frames and winged tips.

As well as having the ability to help consumers customize their apparel and accessories, 3D printing also tends to make wearable items much more lightweight and comfortable; this speaks to just how integral this printing process is set to become to the fashion industry of the future.
