The name of the Optimus Lamp will appeal to younger generations since it will bring to mind the leader of the 'Transformers,' a now blockbuster movie franchise. Even the look of the Optimus Lamp generally resembles the character's metal face to a certain extent. Yet it is also abstract enough to fit more easily into sophisticated homes.

Designed by Tcherassi Vilato, a design studio based in Barcelona, Spain, the Optimus Lamp is a suspension ceiling light is made out of folded metal tubes that take on a bit of a tribal pattern. It is available in two colors (gold and white) and is a outfitted with LED bulbs for more energy efficiency. Overall, it has a bold aesthetic that many people will appreciate in their home.
