The Open Box series is quite captivating because of its use of optical illusions. Yet these optical illusions are so subtle that at first, you might not even realize what it is that you are looking at.

Created by Sheffield-born artist Krystina Naylor, who is a recent graduate from the fine art program at Nottingham Trent University, the Open Box series explores her own sense of space and non-space. It essentially examines the collapsed potential of an object, which is made familiar in one sense yet totally dysfunctional in another. I especially like how the Open Box sculptures blend in and out of its surroundings.
