Postalco Design Studio has pushed the boundaries of storage concepts with the Stakko Chunks and Blocks exhibition. It is showcased at the Karumoku Research Center in Tokyo, focused around a hardwood box -- it is designed by Postalco's Mike Abelson and produced by Karimoku Furniture. It is carefully customized to form different kinds of furniture storage solutions.
Abelson explains the design, "Our relationship with our things is a bit broken right now. We all have a drawer or closet we don't want to look in. It's full of stuff you can't get rid of because you might need it – that's a stress. We wanted to rethink storage as the place where your relationship with those things takes place, so we can become a bit more aware of what we buy and keep."
