For those cyclists who are looking to separate themselves from the norm, consider the One Shot bicycle designed by Valentina Vecchia and Marilena Alberga. The One Shot is a foldable bike that cuts down on space when traveling or storing the unit.
The One Shot bicycle simply folds into a compact rolling case when not in use. It is also designed to work with certain transit systems that provide a place for storage -- fitting neatly into most storing areas. The bicycle is easily unfolded within minutes.
The design is similar to a Swiss army knife in that the components become parallel with one another when closed, but expand to reveal many different components. The One Shot bike is fully functional, with seat, wheels, pedals, cranks and handlebars. While still a concept, this idea seems very promising for manufacturing.
