BMW is Testing In-Car Food Ordering Through the Olo App on iDrive

BMW is working with the Olo app to test in-car food ordering. The test allows BMW drivers in the United States to order food through their dashboard using the Olo app. Additionally, drivers will be able to see their recent orders using the iDrive dashboard. Consumers will be able to pay using a pre-loaded card that they can enter into their dashboard.

Currently, Nekter and Portillo are participating in the test. Olo also works alongside 70,000 restaurant companies, including Dairy Queen, Denny's, Shake Shack and more.

BMW's test is on the cutting edge of in-car consumption. According to a survey by Pymnts.com and Visa, connected consumers ordered food or drinks from their car 65 times a year on average. In-car consumption could drastically increase as more companies integrate the technology into cars.
