These Drawings Imagine Old Cartoon Characters as Their True Ages

Russian artist Andrew Tarusov has created this collection of striking illustrations featuring several old cartoon characters who have been drastically aged in appearance.

In a stark contrast to their usually timeless appearance, Tarusov's series 'Cartoon Characters That Got Old' ages each cartoon character from the year they were first introduced until present day. The overall theme replaces the often youthful and energetic image of many of these timeless characters into geriatric and slightly grim caricatures of their former selves.

These classic cartoon characters certainly look their age in these portraits, with several pushing or passing over the age of 80 years old. Standout examples include Mickey Mouse, who resembles a severely aged Walt Disney, Daisy Duck, who needs crutches to walk around and Goofy who appears to have fallen on hard times and is now homeless on the streets.
