There are hundreds of companies out there advising on how to expand your online social networks -- Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest, the list goes on -- but how about your offline social network? Is there much advice out there as to how to increase that? Firstly, you would have to understand what an offline social network is. It's straightforward really: your friends, family, colleagues and others you deal with on a face-to-face basis regularly.
'Sociocean' proposed solution for increasing this offline network. It has looked for places where there are large groups of people, all unknown to each other and not communicating. And Sociocean found several of these places: the underground, airport terminals and buses. And then it looked at who regularly uses these -- commuters and business travelers.
As a result, Sociocean put together a unique way of pairing the commuter with a social network offline.
