'Object on a Roll' is the title of a furniture design project that was headed by Ori Ravgad to show how the art of sushi rolling could be translated to product creation.
The resulting series is diverse, innovative and filled with character. Ori Ravgad crafts each product by carefully rolling and compressing layers of wood to get the perfect thickness -- allowing him to create a number of different lightweight shapes that can be used for lighting, seating, swings and more.
What makes the Object on a Roll project's pieces stand out is the continuous design that forms the structure of the furniture, giving each a more modern and simplistic look than what would be made possible by other techniques.
